Parents of Slain Florida Teen Trayvon Martin to Meet With Feds.

SANFORD, Fla. - The parents of a black teen fatally shot by a neighborhood watch captain will meet with U.S. Justice Department officials hours before a rally expected to draw thousands of protesters.

Trayvon Martin's parents and the Rev. Al Sharpton are to meet Thursday with the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida and the deputy assistant attorney general of the Civil Rights Division. Later, they'll attend a rally demanding justice for the 17-year-old boy. Thousands of protesters are expected at the First Shiloh Baptist Church in Sanford. Sharpton says he'll attend the rally even though his mother died earlier Thursday.

The neighborhood watch captain has claimed self-defense and has not been arrested. The case is being reviewed by the State Attorney's Office.
